Nicki Minaj’s relationship with Drake has changed so much over the years. Once friends and collaborators, the two got into a fight in the late 2010s over Drake’s relationship with Nicki Minaj’s ex-boyfriend Meek Mill. But now it looks like things could change, as Nicki Minaj handed an olive branch to her collaborator “Moment 4 Life”.
A detailed history of Nicki Minaj’s relationship with Drake
Nicki Minaj and Drake developed a relationship while signing with rap label Young Money Entertainment. They rose to fame around the same time in the late 2000s and worked together on songs such as “Bed Rock”, “Only” and “Make Me Proud”.
Over the years, they have often come across rumors that they are secretly involved in a romantic relationship. However, the two described their relationship as more brotherly, with Nicki Minaj saying in 2014 that Drake was like his “brother” (via MTV News).
And much like their siblings, the two were known to engage in small brawls and arguments, including in 2013 when they reportedly clashed after Drake failed to include Nicki Minaj on his third studio album. Nothing was the same (via Capital Xtra). But no matter what happened between them, they always seemed to bounce back better and stronger.

One of Nicki Minaj and Drake’s biggest divisions came in 2015
Their relationship suffered a heavy blow in 2015 when Drake began falling out with Meek Mill, then boyfriend of Nicki Minaj. Because she cared about them both, Nicki Minaj told The New York Times that she wanted to stay out of the drama. However, she was tied up when Drake began to use his stature and rap fame to disband Meek Mill.
Although they eventually reconciled after her split from Meek Mill, that ceasefire appeared to end in 2018 when Drake became friends with her ex, who had shadowed Nicki Minaj since their split.
Nicki Minaj appeared to be alluding to the fallout from her 2019 song “Barbie Going Bad” – a remix of “Going Bad” by Drake and Meek Mill – in which she accuses an anonymous person and her “brother” of trying to “ end”.
Amid rumors of their fallout, Drake confessed to Rap Radar in December 2019 that their relationship had “changed a lot” following Meek Mill’s predicament. “Probably forever,” he shared.

However, it looks like things are changing for Nicki Minaj and Drake
Nicki Minaj has shown interest in patching things up with Drake in her feature film on Sada Baby’s “Whole Lotta Choppas Remix”. Released on October 16, it features a line in which Nicki Minaj expresses hope that her newborn son will one day be able to play with Drake’s son Adonis.
“This n * gga makes me feel erotic / Uh, he’s a freak like Giannis / To be honest I hope one day we make a date with Adonis,” raps the new mom, who hosted her first child with husband Kenneth Petty on September 30.
As the lyrics spread across the internet, Drake took his Instagram story and posted a screenshot of the song illustration with the caption “Reading dates are coming soon.”
This is the last update at the time of writing this article. But we are happy to see that these two are moving in a positive direction!
