Minaj envisioned it and then manifested it: In July, she shared a clip from the hit reality show on Instagram with the caption, “I’ll host the reunion.”
Rapper Nicki Minaj hosted the fourth and final part of The real housewives of the Potomac Sunday reunion show on Bravo.
Minaj went deep, toasting the cast of the reality show, and she obviously knew the stuff. Minaj questioned Mia thornton about his past as a striptease artist and asked Dr. Wendy Osefo about his new candle business. She also went into all of the drama for the show’s season, including the tension between Candiace Dillard Bassett, her husband, Chris, and his mom, Dorothy.
For Minaj, Sunday was the result of her carrying out her desires.
In July, Minaj shared a clip from the hit reality show on Instagram and captioned it, “I’ll host the reunion. LMK, what you want me to ask Chile. Well done personality Andy cohen commented on the post, writing: “I want to see this.” Minaj later shared a screenshot of a text exchange with her publicist, who said Cohen was really interested in the idea of hosting Minaj. In an act of protest, the rapper made her own wish come true when she took the show’s headquarters a few months later.
She plunged into it.
“Candiace, your mother seems ready to destroy your husband for the world to see.” So this mom isn’t getting checked out, so she’s going to keep doing it. How did you feel to see your mother say these things? Minaj asked Dillard Bassett, by People magazine.
Dillard Bassett, 34, responded that the tension between the two had affected his marriage.
“When I saw it, I absolutely checked it out,” Bassett continued. “I asked her why would she say these things to someone who has always been kind to her and respectful.”
“I want to know how you controlled her for humiliating your husband,” insisted Minaj, to which Dillard Bassett replied, “Well, I don’t mean to disrespect my mother on national television.” She noted that she had “taken a break” with her mother.
MInaj also interviewed Dillard Bassett about his musical career; his single, “Drive Back”, premiered during the series and is said to have reached number 24 on the Billboard R&B card. The rapper then insisted he sing live on the reunion show.
“I can hear you used the autotune in the song ‘Drive Back’, although I liked that song,” she told the aspiring recording star. “So we need to hear some acapella, my child. Sing something acapella for us.
Dillard Bassett then sang a bit of the song, earning applause from everyone on set.
When Minaj handed over the hosting duties to Andy Cohen, she said, “All of you ladies, I appreciate you. I think you guys are all on drugs. Continue to be queens, and don’t let anyone stop you ”,
Cohen called her tour host “extraordinarily entertaining.”
On Twitter, the rapper wrote, “Andy, thanks again. Loved the whole crew behind the scenes and loved the experience.
Fans agreed that Minaj rocked her host duties like a seasoned pro. A wrote, “I really think @NICKIMINAJ deserves a special Emmy for moderating #RHOPReunion. It was special.
