Topic of potential romance between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift refuses to go away with Kansas City Chiefs star teased by NFL Network commentator
Travis Kelce isn’t taking all the references to Taylor Swift’s romance to heart, with the Kansas City Chiefs star responding to NFL Network’s Rich Eisen’s game fun during the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Kelce returned to action from injury on Sunday after missing Week 1’s 21-20 loss to the Detroit Lions. The tight end, 33, received a touchdown pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the 17-9 win over the Jaguars.
Alongside his injury condition, Kelce’s love life has also made headlines in recent weeks, with a romance with global megastar Swift on the agenda. The Messenger initially reported that the two were “hanging out” after running into each other in New York a few weeks ago.
Kelce’s desire to meet Swift was no secret either. The NFL star said on his hit podcast, New Heights, alongside his brother and Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, that he wanted to give the singer his phone number during one of his concerts in Kansas City earlier this summer.
“I was disappointed that she didn’t speak before or after her concerts because she has to keep her voice up for the 44 songs she sings, so I was a little hurt that I couldn’t give her the one of the bracelets I made for her,” Kelce said. “She’s not meeting anyone, or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personally.”
During Sunday’s win over the Jaguars, NFL Network’s Eisen made a reference to Swift. “Kelce finds empty space for the score!” » Eisen said at one point, referencing Swift’s song “Blank Space.”
Eisen added: “You saw him Thursday night, when Travis Kelce wasn’t there, it left a ‘blank space,’ but I think he comes back today and turns out to be ‘the anti -hero’. Never goes out of style.”
Eisen also shared a video on his Instagram, teasing Kelce with a “ding” noise for every reference to Swift. “Well done Rich…. Well done,” Kelce wrote. “I know what you writers want to hear, and you want to hear more. And I won’t give you anything,” Kelce also said in an interview with NFL+ on September 15.
It’s not just Travis Kelce who’s inundated with questions about a potential romance with Swift. Brother Jason Kelce was also questioned. “I saw these rumors. I can’t comment,” Jason, 35, told panelist and retired NFL star Tony Gonzalez.
Jason Kelce added, “Ever since Catching Kelce, everyone has been in love with Travis’ love life. I don’t really know what’s going on there, but I know Travis is having fun and we’ll see what happens with the one he ends up with.”
