The NFL Scouting Combine has become synonymous with the city of Indianapolis and will remain so in the future. After considering a possible change of venue from Lucas Oil Stadium, the league announced that it would be pretty much business as usual – at least for the next two years. On Tuesday, the NFL released a statement pledging to maintain the annual prospect event at Indy for 2023 and 2024.
“After extensive review by our internal team, Fan Engagement and Major Events Advisory Committee and National Invitational Camp staff, Indianapolis remains the best city to host and grow the NFL Combine in 2023 and 2024,” said Peter O’Reilly, NFL. Executive Vice President of Club Affairs and League Events. “Indy’s vision brings together its long tradition of successfully hosting the Combine and executing the judging process, with an exciting focus on innovation and growing the event from a fan and media perspective. .”
Needless to say, Colts owner Jim Irsay is thrilled with the move.
“Indy is a city built to host major sporting events, and I’m proud the Combine will continue to stay in our city,” Irsay said.

There has been real pressure from other NFL teams to hold the event in the future, with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones making a big push to hold the event at the team headquarters – The Star in Frisco, Texas – in tandem. with AT&T Stadium, while the Minnesota Vikings also threw their hats into the ring in hopes of seeing it go to US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Jones has made no secret that he designed The Star with the combine harvester in mind, but he and other owners not named Irsay will now have to wait until 2025, at the earliest, before potentially getting the chance. .

The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine will take place from Tuesday, February 28 through Monday, March 6, and the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine will begin on Tuesday, February 27 and end on March 4.
