Last month, we announced that Huawei Share will get a new feature upgrade and now it’s finally rolling out to Huawei smartphones and tablets running HarmonyOS operating system in China. The latest addition is unique because it automatically stops Huawei Share after 10 minutes.
According to the information, turning on the switch makes your device visible to nearby devices so that you can receive files. The switch automatically turns off after 10 minutes, but you can still send files.
Once activated, Huawei Share will be visible to nearby devices for 10 minutes (reverse countdown). However, it used to be just a simple switch, which stayed on until you manually turned it off. Other than countdown timer and auto power off, Huawei has not added any additional features in Huawei Share.
Huawei Share lets you share files with nearby Huawei devices, this feature uses WiFi to transfer data quickly and efficiently. It works on different platforms including smartphones, tablets, and PCs.
To use Huawei Share, the user needs to open the control panel and tap Huawei Share on the receiver side. Now choose the file to send and from the share option select Huawei Share as it will automatically appear at the top of the context menu. Transmission only requires that you accept the one-time opt-in request to share files.
Availablity:
Currently, the latest 10-minute auto-off function for Huawei Share is only available for devices in China. However, it may also roll out for global models, but we don’t have any confirmation on that.
Check for updates:
Huawei devices with Chinese firmware should open Settings > then tap System and updates, go to Software updates > and CHECK FOR UPDATES. The phone will take a few minutes to complete the download procedure and restart the device. Be sure to follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
