The debate between Android and iPhone devices is one that has evolved over the past few years. But a new study sheds light on what Android users really think about switching to iPhones and why.
According to the published study, almost half of Android users would agree to switch to Apple smartphones. And the reason is simple: they call it safer and more private compared to Android.
The survey results are not a huge surprise for obvious reasons. Many cannot help but hold a clear superiority of iPhones over all others. And on top of that, consumers definitely feel a bit safer when using the latest iPhone 13 compared to the latest Samsung S22.
The news comes to us thanks to the report published by Beyond Infinity, which has made it its mission to have nearly 1,000 Americans surveyed for the purpose of mobile security.
When it comes to user habits and feelings, around 76% of iPhone users feel safe and satisfied with their devices. On the other hand, a good 74% of Android device users shared the same sentiments.
Both smartphone users say this is a remarkable difference between the two devices and they would definitely prefer the iPhone maker over Samsung any day. Also, it was interesting to see iPhone users say they were more than twice as likely to trust their device than any other, especially Android.
In specific terms, the iPhone turned out to be the most secure device they had encountered in their lives.
Meanwhile, other key findings from the study related to how cloud services actually affect Apple and Android users.
About 20% of surveyed users with an iCloud Keychain say they feel so secure, while the rest can’t be said for Google users when it comes to their password manager. Only 13% of them feel safe there.
On the other hand, let’s move on to Apple users, 27% of whom feel so secure when using their iCloud. By comparison, about 22% of Google Drive users felt the same way.
Since we have encountered new versions of operating systems, there has been a direct upgrade of security advancements. That’s why 33% of Android users feel the pressure to switch to Apple’s iPhone and enjoy benefits like a new lock mode that will be launched soon.
The study also shed light on how iPhone users tend to be more informed and concerned about their privacy and security status than others. For example, they will be busy choosing pins with six numbers rather than the usual four.
These users are also part of the group that constantly monitors tracking their current locations. They will also benefit from better security-related improvements, such as facial recognition. And yes, no Android device yet offers the benefits and technology of Apple.
We also saw research asking respondents who shed light on security breach incidents in which they were involved. And neither group was a stranger to hacking and malware incidents. But again, it was much less with iPhone users.
A large majority of iPhone users would never have experienced a security breach, compared to their Android counterparts.
In situations where a security breach has managed to occur involving their iPhones, around 20% said they could completely recover the data that had been lost. But at the same time, some users may think they are too safe because a large majority of Apple device owners have reported lost devices.
