IOS 15 leak hints at design changes
Apple is expected to change the way Control Center appears on an iPhone. As suggested by a report from MacRumors, the Control Center will appear similar to the one seen on macOS Big Sur for a cleaner, more compact look. If this happens, iPhones with iOS 15 are likely to receive labeled and colored Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and AirDrop icons. There could be a horizontal slider to increase / decrease screen brightness and volume, much like seen on Android.
It could also include new icons like keyboard brightness, AirPlay display, etc. However, chances are iOS 15 won’t fully replicate Big Sur’s control center and also keep some of its existing elements.
It is also revealed that iOS 15 will include an API allowing developers to use the combination of Touch and Face ID. This once again gives us the certainty that the iPhone 13 will feature both a fingerprint scanner and facial recognition. It should include a built-in fingerprint scanner.
Another leak (courtesy of a Reddit user) hints at another visual change: the app icons. It’s likely that the app icons for Apple Music and more will change to add depth to the otherwise flat icons seen today.
This will mostly be inspired by the neumorphic technique, something Apple took benchmarks for macOS Big Sur and even the App Store Connect icon last year.
Apart from that, iOS 15 is supposed to come with new features like Always-on-Display (AOD) support, improved Face ID, improved keyboard, new emojis, improved privacy, and more. .
As we lack concrete details on this, it is best to wait until WWDC 2021 which will take place in June for a better idea on the same topic. We will keep you posted. So stay tuned.
