Representatives of former President Donald Trump have alerted the FBI that they have found another set of sensitive documents at a storage facility in West Palm Beach, Florida, a US official confirmed to CBS News.

There were two documents with classified marks inside a sealed box, adding to the more than 300 documents with classified marks that were found this year at Trump properties. The documents were turned over to the FBI.

The revelation is the first indication that classified documents may have been held or may be at Trump’s properties.

Searches by Trump officials were conducted around Thanksgiving at three other locations — the former president’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, Trump Tower in New York and a warehouse in Mar-a-Lago in Florida — according to the Washington Post, which first reported the story.

This comes at a time of growing legal peril for the former president.

The FBI seized 33 boxes of files on August 8 while executing a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago, including documents believed to be in the hands of the National Archives.

Last month, the Department of Justice appointed special adviser jack smith to oversee the growing investigation into these documents.

Trump has played down the significance of the seizures, but critics say his alleged mishandling of records could have allowed highly sensitive documents to fall into the wrong hands.

“Disregard and disregard for legal norms and rules simply cannot be accepted from anyone,” said Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal. “No one is above the law.”
