iPhone 15 leaks are already gaining momentum and new information suggests the lineup could be Apple’s biggest iPhone upgrade in years.
The latest eye-opening news comes from an industry insider Majin Bu, which claims the recently leaked iPhone 15 Ultra will be a breakthrough device with key differentiators from the iPhone 15 Pro. It will come with base storage of 256GB, USB-C (potentially with 4-speed Thungerbolt), and a display that incorporates dual front cameras.
This is the last of them, which is turning heads. MajinBu says only the iPhone 15 Ultra will have dual front cameras, and while rivals have experimented with dual front cameras in the past (notably the Pixel 3/3XL), the feature has disappeared in recent years. Which is often a signal for Apple to reinvent something and show how things should have been done from the start.
In the case of the Pixel 3, Google has used its dual front cameras to offer wide and ultra-wide lenses. The latter was particularly useful for selfies with larger groups or to fit more into the background. The feature returned with the Pixel 6 Pro, but it uses software to achieve the effect in a single camera.
It remains to be seen if Apple would emulate this feature, but the company generally likes to put its own spin on things. I wouldn’t be surprised to see new photography modes and even FaceID improvements.
Supporting reports from AppleLeaksPro and Bloomberg’s MajinBu Mark Gurman said the iPhone 15 Ultra will replace the “Pro Max”. This would simplify the branding of the range: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Ultra.
Is 2023 the year when Apple shakes up the iPhone range? Of course it takes shape like this…
