Neighbors star Madeleine West shares disturbing photo attached to IV drip amid secret health battle: ‘I just got a massive wake-up call’
Madeleine West shared a disturbing photo of herself on Saturday – after opening up about her battle with anorexia and being sexually abused as a child.
The former Neighbors star, 42, posted the photo to Instagram which shows her dejected as she lies in a hospital bed with an intravenous drip in her vein.
She told her worried fans that she had pushed her body to its limits and was now taking some time to recover.
“There is no price for honoring every commitment if the price dishonors your health,” she wrote.
“I’m smiling but I’m not going to sugarcoat the fact that I just had a huge awakening.” I know I’m not the only one guilty of taking my health for granted.

‘I hear a lot of hype in my industry about being a YES MAN. Well, right now I’m training to be a NO WOMAN. Frankly, I’d rather smell roses than attend fashion festivals.
Last month, Madeleine spoke for the first time about her battle with anorexia, after revealing that she had been sexually abused as a child.
Speaking to Stellar magazine, the 42-year-old said the trauma of being abused had made her obsessed with looking “perfect” – a task that was both “punishing” and unending.
“For every person who has been sexually abused, what happened to them will manifest in their life as self-destructive behavior. They are never to blame,” she told the publication.

“There is no price for honoring every commitment if the price dishonors your health,” she wrote.
West revealed that in her early teens, shortly after the abuse stopped, she developed anorexia as a coping mechanism.
It comes weeks after the mother-of-six claimed she was regularly abused by a ‘monster’ who lived in the town where she grew up.
She told The Sun of the alleged abuse: “This monster ruined my life. I came out the other side, yes a survivor but happy to own the title of victim.

Last month, Madeleine spoke for the first time about her battle with anorexia, after revealing that she had been sexually abused as a child.
“I now demand justice. Anyone who posts, monitors or hurts a child, your time is up. The wheel spins.
She has now launched a new podcast called Predatory to shed light on the issue of pedophilia with ex-detective Gary Jubelin.
Madeleine reveals in the first episode of her podcast that it is extremely difficult for victims of sexual abuse to find the courage to speak out.
