The Philadelphia 76ers took on the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday in a bid to even their road trip after dropping one in Cleveland. They put up a big rally in the fourth quarter and made Memphis sweat a bit, but in the end the Grizzlies came away with a 117-109 home win.
Ja Morant had 28 points, 20 in the first half, and he had eight rebounds to lead the way for the Grizzlies. Joel Embiid had 35 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists to lead Philadelphia, but the Sixers struggled in the minutes without Embiid and even Embiid struggled with Steven Adams who had 10 offensive rebounds.
After all, NBA Twitter gave their best reactions to Morant’s acrobatic theatrics, Adams’ solid play and the Grizzlies sending Embiid and the Sixers to an 0-2 start for this 3-game road trip. Philadelphia now falls to 12-11 on the season.
