In Detroit, the Pistons beat Philadelphia, 112-108, at Little Caesars Arena.
2021 first-round pick Jaden Springer scored four points, took three rebounds and provided an assist for the 76ers.
He was 2 for 6 from the floor while playing 18 minutes.
Meanwhile in Chicago, Memphis fell to the Bulls, 118-105, at United Center.
Yves Pons, who signed with the Grizzlies as an undrafted free agent over the summer, played five minutes against the Bulls and posted some turnover in the game.
In Miami, two former UT players were in action for the Celtics. Boston lost to the Heat, 121-100, at the FTX Arena.
Grant Williams, two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Year during his time at Rocky Top, started at the Celtics center on Friday.
He had four points, six rebounds, three assists and one steal in 27 minutes.
Williams went 1 for 3 from the floor and 0 for 2 from beyond the 3 point arc. He was a perfect 2-for-2 from the free throw line.
Josh Richardson also appeared in the game for Boston. He played 20 minutes and scored 12 points.
Richardson was 4-for-9 on the court and went 2-for-6 from long distance. He was 2-for-2 from the foul line.
He also had three assists and a steal against the Heat.
