NBA MVP announces his decision on the future of the NBA

Derrick Rose is one of the most popular players in the NBA. After tearing his ACL in 2012, Rose found a way to continue playing in the league 12 years later. Next year will be season 16 of Rose, and fortunately, it won’t be the last.

In an interview with DaMichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal, Derrick Rose revealed his future NBA plans with the Memphis Grizzlies.

“Yes, I’ll be back,” Rose said. “I talked to Zach (Kleiman), I talked to the coach… This summer it’s about attacking my rehab, my workouts and continuing to be disciplined.”

This season, Derrick Rose has only played 24 games for the Memphis Grizzlies. He averaged 8.0 points, 3.3 assists and 1.9 assists on 46/37/89 shooting. This was on the lower end of the scale for Rose’s scoring averages and assists averages.

Rose’s injuries with the Grizzlies were not an isolated incident this season. The entire Grizzlies team was hurt for much of the season, and it wasn’t just a Derrick Rose problem. The team was so injury prone that it set an NBA record for most lineups used in a season.

Next season, the Memphis Grizzlies will have a plethora of options at the guard position – Ja Morant, Marcus Smart, Derrick Rose, and Desmond Bane will all be fantasy options moving forward.
