The Los Angeles Lakers are even with the Los Angeles Clippers for the top spot in the Western Conference and will face the Chicago Bulls in an interconference game Saturday at 9 p.m. ET. Can the defending champions hold back a Bulls team leading a three-game winning streak? Let’s review Showdown’s fantastic outlook for the game for contests on DraftKings.
Anthony Davis ($ 14,700) missed his last game against the Chicago Bulls, but he’s in a good position to dominate his hometown team the second time around. The Bulls are ranked 26th among the DraftKings against opposing power forwards and will not have Wendell Carter Jr. or Otto Porter Jr. available. LeBron James ($ 15,000) and AD could both blow this game up.
Zach LaVine ($ 14,100) has been down lately, but racked up 38 points against the Lakers earlier this year, as well as 5 rebounds and 6 assists. He has scored at least 32 points in six of his last 10 games while making almost four threes per game.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($ 3,800) just pulverized the Milwaukee Bucks for 23 points, a season high, but still very cheap. I’m not saying he’ll replicate his last performance, but he can be as productive as Kyle Kuzma ($ 6,000) or Patrick Williams ($ 6,400) for much less pay.
Thaddeus Young ($ 5,000) will play a big role for Chicago with the WCJ and has shown that he can be effective with his full play. He has collected over 26 DKFPs in three straight contests while averaging 11.6 points, 6 rebounds and four assists per game. Its passage from the high post gives it a solid floor.
Marc Gasol ($ 3,400) hasn’t exploded for a while. His price is ideal for a starter, but he’s unlikely to return much value by taking three hits per game. If you need a filler for $ 3,500 or less after building the rest of your list, Gasol might be worth it. I would stay away from plugging it into your flex before experimenting with other options.
The Lakers only won by two the last time they faced Chicago, but AD’s comeback gives them a major boost. Los Angeles are almost a double-digit favorite, and their second star is sure to tip the scales in their favor on the road.
Final score: Lakers win 120-109
