Young Rich List influencer Natasha Oakley suffers MAJOR setback while promoting her swimwear brand on Instagram

A top Aussie influencer who was recently on the AFR’s Young Rich list has been called out for an embarrassing social media gaffe.

Natasha Oakley, who has an estimated net worth of $63 million, posted a video this week promoting a new item from her Monday Swimwear bikini brand.

In the clip, she explained how the two-piece was flattering to her figure and also enhanced its lasting benefits – but forgot to remove an awkward detail.

“In all the right places and never dig,” Ms Oakley said, addressing the camera in a bikini. “And, like all of our Monday suits, it’s made from 100% recycled materials.”

She then abruptly dropped her perky tone of voice and said to someone off camera, “Okay, that was 15 seconds.”

Ms Oakley quickly deleted the video after realizing she should have cut out the final seconds – but it was already too late.

The clip was quickly reposted by Celeb Spellcheck, a popular Instagram account with 243,000 followers that holds influencers accountable for their mistakes.

Ms Oakley, who grew up in Sydney but now lives in Los Angeles, attracted a following when she started the ‘A Bikini A Day’ blog with her best friend Devin Brugman in 2012 to share her favorite swimwear.

The website took off and the pair launched their own swimwear brand, Monday Swimwear, followed by a sportswear branch, Monday Active.

Ms Oakley has since invested in other booming brands like The Pilates Class and Emma Pills, and now has an estimated net worth of $63million.

That was enough to earn him a place on last year’s young rich list, compiled by The Australian Financial Review.

“Growing up in a beach town was a dream and definitely translated into my love and passion for the ocean, and later for swimwear,” she previously said of her success.

“I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit being the daughter of two entrepreneurs. Ever since I was young I knew I wanted to get into business and I feel so lucky to have found my niche.

Monday Swimwear was born in 2014, with a focus on fit and texture.

Ms. Oakley and Ms. Brugman have a detailed design process where each style is suitable for multiple body types, not just one size.

“In our process, we like to include the customer as much as possible. We are really vocal with our community and encourage them to speak with us,” Ms. Oakley said.

“We like to interview our customers often and take all appropriate feedback into account when designing.”

The brand offers cup sizes A to G and can be shipped worldwide, making it accessible to everyone.
