Natalie Imbruglia has enlisted local promoters to help her plan an Australian tour for next year.

The 47-year-old told the Herald Sun she recently lost money on her UK mini-tour for the 25th anniversary of her hit debut album Left of the Middle because she didn’t able to book more rooms due to post-pandemic backlog. .

She admitted she would like to tour Australia next year and is “currently looking for opportunities”, but it is “so expensive”.

“I really want to do it and it’s important for the fans to know that, but it’s expensive so, for the promoters, I want to tour Australia,” Natalie said.

“We’re looking at opportunities next year where I can come in as a support and do my own shows around that.”

Natalie added, “If there’s a way to do it and even break even, I’m here.”

It comes as Natalie prepares to co-host the 2022 ARIA Awards on Thursday in Sydney alongside G Flip and Ruel.

G Flip stepped in to host the awards after Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi pulled out due to a scheduling conflict.

This year’s nominations were dominated by Rüfüs Du Sol, whose name appears in seven categories, followed by Amyl and the Sniffers and Flume.

Brooke Boney will host Channel Nine’s live broadcast of the show which kicks off at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Thursday 24 November.

The late Olivia Newton-John will also receive a special salute during the show, Mediaweek reports.
