Naomi Watts recently completed a COVID-free movie in Canada.
And on Monday, the 52-year-old British beauty was back in New York City as she took her rescue dog Izzy for a walk alongside her 11-year-old son Kai.
For the outing, the Diana actress cut a relaxed silhouette in jeans and a t-shirt while enjoying the gorgeous fall weather.
Mom fashion: Naomi Watts, 52, stayed relaxed as she took a walk on Monday with her rescue dog Izzy and son Kai, 11, whom she shares with ex-partner Liev Schreiber. The British-born beauty recently returned from filming a movie in Canada
The Mulholland Drive actress wore a pair of frayed bootcut jeans as she took to the city streets with her precious dog, whom she rescued in May.
Opting for a layered look, Naomi slipped a white three-quarter sleeve top into her jeans, tossing a navy sweater over her shoulders.
She paired the outfit with a pair of simple white sneakers and a patterned black and white face mask.
Naomi kept her blonde locks characteristic and flowing, completing the look with a pair of aviators as she walked around.
Laid-back ride: Naomi and her skateboarding son took their rescue dog for a walk in casual outfits. The family unit adopted the dog in May
Her son, Kai, whom she shares with ex-partner Liev Schreiber, 53, was also present for the outing.
Kai, an avid skateboarder, brought his trusty transport device with him as he walked alongside mum. He was wearing gray jogging pants accented with a colorful stripe down the side.
Less concerned than his mother with the newly crisp New York City air, he sported a pink tank top and a cheetah-print face mask around his chin.
The actress seemed happy to be back to her usual routine after returning from Canada, where she was filming her new movie Lakewood amid the pandemic.
Naomi gushed about the experience although it was very different from what everyone is used to.
Grateful: After filming her new movie Lakewood, Naomi took to Instagram to share photos of the experience as she said she was ‘fantastic’ while being ‘safe’
She captioned the series of photos from her time on set with a long caption, thanking her cast, crew and Canada for the film.
‘I wrapped a film during COVID without a hiccup. It’s not an easy thing to do, ”she began.
The actress then wrote: ‘Thank you you in beautiful Canada for helping to make this possible, with all the security measures in place, we survived it! Everything is safe! Everything is in good health. The narrative prevails! God knows we need it more than ever.
She went on to describe it as a ‘really fantastic experience with two fellow Aussies’, citing a few others for making it a ‘great and memorable experience’.
Telling stories: The seasoned actress shared that she was so excited to get back to ‘storytelling’ adding that ‘we need it now more than ever’ as she posed for a photo on the tray.
Glam: The timeless beauty could be seen glamorous with a mask and face shield as her crew took all the necessary precautions during filming
Speaking to USA Today a few weeks before filming, Naomi said she’s getting ready for the role but spending time running.
“I’m on a treadmill because in the movie I do a lot of running and sprinting,” she explained, spending her last days at home with her children before leaving for Canada.
Although she felt ‘grateful’ and relieved after completing the experience, she continued to share her apprehension regarding the filming process.
“ I’m so ready to be in a creative space and do what I love to do, which is storytelling, rather than sitting at home on the phone a lot and talking, which isn’t my comfort zone. But of course it’s scary at the same time, ” she shared.
She also added that she would be tested for COVID about three times a week, on average.
Breathtaking Views: After wrapping up her film, Naomi thanked her film crew and the scenic Canadian backdrop for a smooth filming experience.
During the pandemic, Naomi was squatting with her Liev and their two children, Kai and Sasha, 13, in the Hamptons.
The stellar co-parents – despite both being in different relationships – even gave in to their children’s whims, filming a TikTok on Mother’s Day.
Naomi has been dating actor Billy Crudup, 51, since 2017 and Liev is dating Taylor Niesen, 27.
Recently, Naomi’s film Penguin Bloom made its largely virtual Toronto International Film Festival debut.
Inspired by a true story, Naomi plays a mother who is paralyzed in the chest after breaking her back on vacation.
The protagonist finds solace in an injured magpie her son brings home, as his family tries to cope with the reality of his new life.
While it was a good experience, Naomi shared that she was incredibly afraid to work with the bird because “ Magpies are notorious for not being particularly kind creatures. ”
