Watts has been candid about how late she started in Hollywood.

“My career only really started in my early thirties; that’s when Mulholland Drive came out,’ she said.

“At that time, I was also told that your career would end around your 40s.”

But the warning was wrong.

While in her 40s, Watts starred in some of her biggest hits, including Fair Game (2010), Dream House (2011), and The Impossible (2012).

Also in InStyle’s new issue, the mermaid said there were times when she was “close” to having plastic surgery.

She said she had strongly considered going under the knife in the past and had also done “a lot of research” on the subject.

In her latest film, Goodnight Mommy, Watts’ character has her face completely bandaged after cosmetic surgery, leading her young sons to believe that their own mother may have been replaced by a monster.

When asked if she would consider going under the knife, she said: ‘I’ve done a lot of research and sometimes got close and thought about doing it.

And that doesn’t mean I won’t someday. If I knew I could be beautiful and like myself but less tired, I would gladly do what needs to be done,” she added.

Watts explained that surgery is a personal choice and nothing to be ashamed of.

“I don’t think we should ever shame anyone who made that choice because everyone should approach it on their own level,” she said.

Watts has two children, Kai and Sasha, with actor Liev Schreiber. She is now dating Billy Crudup.
