Mumbai photographer Mitsun Soni is delighted that his photo of another world of a gigantic tree in a quiet square in Dubai is one of the winning photos of the Apple Night Mode photo challenge for users of the iPhone 11.
The photo was taken around 2 a.m. on a recent trip to Dubai. “I was walking with friends from the city who promised me a few zaffran chai, that I don’t even drink. I then saw this very random tree in the middle of the night in Dubai and I was blown away. It was strange because there was no one there and there was this red glow from this nearby hotel sign. I slipped into a quiet corner without anyone or car and tried the night mode and the light fell perfectly. “
Mitsun, who took the photo with an iPhone 11 Pro, adds that he does not think it would have been possible with the night mode or night vision of another phone, but says: “I have never been than an iPhone user. ”
Did Mitsun adjust a lot after the capture? “Not much apart from a few small details, the light speaks for itself. There is no noticeable difference between the original and final versions. Mitsun’s Instagram photo of more than 2,700 likes indicates that it has been edited with Snapseed, Vsco and Adobe Lightroom.
Photographer Tyler Mitchell praised the photo, saying, “This one blows my mind. I have no idea where this rich, deep red light comes from on the tree. It almost looks like a UFO sitting above the tree, just out of the frame. An absolutely magnificent composition also. Arem Duplessis, creative director of the group at Apple, underlined: “The rich red color of the tree and the ground gives this image a quality from another world. Associated with the night sky, it looks like an image from a science fiction film. “
The deep blue of the night sky with red is likely to remind Strange things The Upside Down fans for sure. Very soon, India will see Mitsun photographed on a larger-than-life billboard in the nearest street.
