The 2022 MTV EMAs are here, and the stars were out in force on the red carpet, with the likes of Taylor Swift, Rita Ora and her new husband Taika Waititi donning their merry rags.
This year’s event features a star-studded guest list, with performances from Eurovision Song Contest winners Kalush Orchestra, Lewis Capaldi, Gorillaz, Stormzy and OneRepublic.
David Guetta, Bebe Rexha and Armani White will also take the stage in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Laying down a storm on the carpet and following the success of her album Midnights, Taylor was the epitome of her hit song Bejeweled.
Wearing a low-cut black bodysuit layered over a statement skirt covered in dazzling emeralds, the Anti-Hero singer looked ultra chic.
Forgoing her signature red lip, Taylor opted for a dramatic nude pink winged liner, styling her blonde locks in a high bun.
This year’s EMAs mark a mega achievement for Taylor, as she tops with six nominations, including Best Long-Form Video.
Host Rita, who returned after first hosting the ceremony in 2017, also brought the glamour.
Set to also perform her RIP song to open the show, Rita looked stunning in a sheer black jumpsuit adorned with shimmering red and gold floral detailing.
She teamed her look with a pair of towering stilettos and flashed a series of playful poses for the cameras, no doubt in good spirits due to her numerous nominations and winning the power of the musical gong.
Standing next to his love, filmmaker Taika cut an elegant figure in a black tuxedo, having married the popstar after a year together earlier this year.
They have kept rather tight-lipped about their marriage but, according to reports, they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in London in September.
Elsewhere on the mat, Bebe was blue da ba dee da ba di in a velvet number with an abstract panel.
The songwriter certainly turned heads in his electric blue outfit, further showcasing his eccentricity as his heeled boots blended into his pants.
Eurovision star Sam Ryder was all smiles as he displayed peace signs on the carpet, dressed in a white denim look with a paint splattered print.
This year’s EMAs were also blessed with an appearance from David Hasselhoff himself, the Knight Rider star looking suave in a black suit.
With his shirt unbuttoned and his chest on full display, The Hoff placed a loving arm around his wife Hayley Roberts, whom he married in 2018.
Other stars on the carpet included teenage sensation Gayle, Noa Kirel, Ava Max and Tate McRae.
Big nominees of the night included Harry Styles with his hit As It Was, BLACKPINK for their Pink Venom video and Lizzo with viral sensation About Damn Time.
Other artists hoping to get gongs include Doja Cat, Nicki Minaj, Coldplay, BTS, Lady Gaga and Ed Sheeran.
But, when it comes to winners, stars such as Billie Eilish, Lorde and Daddy Yankee took home trophies, as did Taylor for the All Too Well short.
