An Iranian director was called to serve a year in prison by the Iranian authorities, just days after winning the first prize at the Berlin Film Festival.
Mohammad Rasoulof, whose film There is no harm won the prestigious Golden Bear on Saturday, was convicted last July for having disseminated anti-government propaganda.
Due to a travel ban, the director was unable to recover his award, which his daughter Baran received on his behalf.
There is no harm told four stories related to the death penalty in Iran.
Rasoulof made the film in secret, after being banned from making it in 2017.
His lawyer said he would appeal the decision.
