Liverpool have been given a selection boost with Mohamed Salah returning home ahead of schedule.
The Egyptian striker was absent with his national team last week and scored twice in their 3-0 win over Niger on Friday.
With Egypt due to face Liberia on Tuesday, the decision has been made by national team Rui Vitoria to allow Salah to return to Merseyside in preparation for the Premier League return.
A statement of the Egyptian FA said: “The technical staff of the Egyptian national team preferred to rest Mohamed Salah and Mostafa Mohamed for the friendly match against Liberia after having both taken part in the previous match against Niger.”
For Liverpool, it’s a welcome boost.
Jurgen Klopp’s side return to action as they host Brighton at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
With the Reds currently having just two Premier League wins to their name, Liverpool come into the clash in eighth place in the league.
Their last domestic clash was the 0-0 draw against Merseyside rivals Everton earlier this month.
Brighton are hoping to extend their strong start to the season in which they climbed to fourth in the table.
However, with Graham Potter moving to Chelsea, the Seagulls will be hoping new head coach Roberto De Zerbi can take charge of his time on the right foot.
