Okay, there is a lot to cover here.
But first, we have to go back to the beginnings of Miley’s hair experiments. After spending the majority of her teenage years with long, wavy hair in different combinations of blondes and brunettes, Miley cut her lengths into a platinum pixie crop towards We Can’t Stop / Wrecking Ball.
But more recently, Miley made her most drastic move yet with a fierce suuuuper mullet cut off by her mom (which, BTW, had significant meaning for Miley and her art).
This mullet went through a series of upgrades – including an even shorter shortening, before Miley turned it into a bowl cut (rightly so, in time for the Superbowl). After that, it became an Oasis meets Jamie Oliver’s haircut in the early 2000s (which I personally still want to copy). Oh, and let’s not forget the moment when, inexplicably, he also turned into a long Mohawk ponytail?

Now that you’re up to date, I hope you’re as confused as I am that Miley’s fierce, layered mullet-bowl cut hybrid was kind of pulled into a bun? The woman is a magician, I swear (but I’m not going to lie to you, I’m a huge fan of this look too).
Miley donned the bun for a series of IG stories and videos posted on her grid, the latter captioned: “Made ya look. Now buy tickets to @summerfest.” But when Miley posted a selfie in her stories, she also captioned it with some pretty vulnerable comments.
She captioned the photo (which you can see below) “You all tagged me with that turkey ass shit”, along with some funny turkey stickers and the phrase “gobble gobble”.
Fans have pointed out that Miley has opened up in IG’s life about being hurt by bodily shameful comments making “turkey but” jokes, and so it’s likely that’s what Miley referenced in her amazing selfie.
You tell them Miley.
