Miley Cyrus attended the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in Los Angeles this week. The pop star performed with Def Leppard and shared the vocals for their classic hit “Photograph.” Ultimately, that moment was something Hawkins would have really liked.
Cyrus shared via Twitter a voicemail she received from Hawkins. He says in the brief message: “What’s up, Miley? It’s Taylor. I heard you’re moving. WAAAHHHHH! I listen to ‘Photograph’ by Def Leppard. You could kill this one. Build [bassist Chris] Chaney learns this. (Note: Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Chaney performed in Cyrus’ backing band several times.)
Cyrus wrote:A personal request from the legend herself. #TaylorHawkins my friend, my idol…. My neighbor. Growing up on a farm, I never got to see the light of another house nearby, but living with Taylor during my years in Los Angeles was one of the most fun times of my life. life.
She added, “I miss Taylor so much, like everyone else. It was such an honor to celebrate it last night and perform w @DefLeppard. So lucky to have known him not only as a superstar, but to have spent time watching him just be a father and a husband! Last night was the most special way to remember the MOST special person! @foofighters forever.
