Miley Cyrus has just welcomed a new furry friend to her family. According to PEOPLE, Cyrus adopted a pit bull named Angel. She noted that her new dog’s name honors her late dog, Mary Jane, who died of cancer two months earlier.
On Instagram, Cyrus posted a slideshow of photos of herself alongside her new dog as well as some of her other pets. She also included some photos of Angel hanging out with other family members, including her mother, Tish Cyrus, and her father, Billy Ray Cyrus. In her caption, she cited “I Thought I Lost You”, her Golden Globe nominated song with John Travolta from the animated film Lock, which tells the story of a dog who believes he has real superpowers. She started, “I thought I lost you when you ran away to try and find me. I thought I would never see your sweet face again. I turned and you were gone and the days went by. J ‘ve saved the moments when we hoped in my heart that you would come back to me, my friend. And now I have you … But I thought I lost you. “Cyrus went on to explain in his caption that ‘she thought Mary Jane had actually helped her find Angel.
“Almost two months ago my best friend, Mary Jane, a rescued pit mix, left this world,” she writes. “I knew she wasn’t gone for good. She had survived the body she was in but she never said goodbye… .. with her eyes she whispered ‘See you soon Bestie’. Mary Jane defined loyalty and would never break a promise. Cyrus noted that she named her dog “Angel” because she believes Mary Jane kept her “promise” by guiding her to a new friend.
“I can feel her here with me blessing this new member of my family called ‘Angel’ because she was delivered to me by a… My Mary,” Cyrus added. “It breaks my heart to know that Angel slept on concrete in a shelter for three months before he finally came home. The stigma and stereotype that surrounds pit bulls is tearing me in two. This breed is incomparably loving. Just as humans often maintain nature. . The ‘Midnight Sky’ singer continued to write that she was ‘head over heels’ with her new animal friend, adding, “I’m not sure I’ll sleep again because I can’t take my eyes off her!” Its halo shines. to see and I can’t wait to show it! “
