Miley Cyrus keeps one thing consistent: her defense of emerging fashion talent. In October, the singer modeled a pink and gold Peony dress from Sohee Park, a student of Central Saint Martins The Graham Norton Show. Now she’s brought in New York-based designer Marshall Columbia to style her backyard session and he’s ‘gagged’ about it.
Dressed in an embellished gray suit with a coordinating beaded bikini top, it’s easy to see why the brand’s aesthetic suits Cyrus. It’s fun, colorful, and has a nostalgic element.
Please note: Marshall Columbia only decided to launch his own brand this year. “The lockdown was actually the reason I was able to start my brand right now,” he has previously said. “It was a much needed mental break. And frankly, unemployment gave me the funds to just work on developing my ideas and my brand. I was able to build my website, create a line of handbags, and do a mini summer collection in my living room. It was not a glamorous space to work in, but I’m very grateful for the time I had.
Fast forward to November, and within months her designs were worn by one of the most famous women on the planet.
