Mike Myers is a comedic force to be reckoned with. Whether he’s playing a wacky spy, a flamboyant rockstar, or a man-child trying to make sense of the world, Myers always manages to make audiences laugh. With a career spanning over three decades, he has become one of the most recognizable and beloved comedians of our time. From his early days on Saturday Night Live to his iconic roles in some of the most successful comedies of all time, Myers has proven time and time again that he has a knack for making people laugh.

One of the things that makes Myers so funny is his ability to create truly unique and memorable characters. From the moment he enters the screen, you know you’re going to have a great time. Whether he’s wearing a ridiculous accent or a wild costume, Myers always ends up fully inhabiting his characters, making them feel like real, well-made people rather than mere caricatures.

Beyond his comedic talent, Myers is also a master of physical comedy. Whether he’s doing a silly dance or a fall, he always manages to make it look effortless and natural. He’s not afraid to make a fool of himself just for fun, and that willingness to be vulnerable is one of the things that makes him such a beloved performer.

Of course, all that talent wouldn’t mean a thing if Myers didn’t have the comedic timing to back it up. But he does. He knows just when to hit the punchline, and he’s a master of the slow burn, pulling off a joke for maximum comedic effect. He’s also a master of recall, weaving jokes and references through his movies that reward repeat viewing.

All in all, Mike Myers is a comedic genius and a true master of his craft. And if you’re looking for a good laugh, look no further than Mike Myers’ filmography.

VIDEO OF THE DAY

ten The Love Guru (2008)

Spyglass Entertainment

It’s not often we see Mike Myers in a starring role these days, but when we do, it’s usually a mixed bag. Such is the case with The Love Guru, a film that had the potential to be a hilarious comedy but ended up falling flat. The storyline follows Myers as an American raised by gurus in India, who becomes a spiritual advisor to a hockey player. It’s a fun concept, but it’s in the execution that the film falters. Myers’ performance as Guru Pitka is a bit over the top, and the jokes fall flat more often than not. Some of the supporting actors, including Jessica Alba and Justin Timberlake, are up for it, but they can’t save the movie from its own flaws.

9 The Cat in the Hat (2003)

Mike Myers as the Cat in the Hat
DreamWorks Pictures

Mike Myers has played a lot of memorable characters in his career, but The cat in the hat is not one. Based on the classic Dr. Seuss children’s book, this film attempts to be a family comedy but ultimately fails. The story follows Myers as the titular cat, who comes to visit a sibling on a rainy day and proceeds to wreak havoc. Myers’ performance is good, but the script is weak and the jokes are few. It’s a shame this movie didn’t live up to its potential as a live-action adaptation of a beloved children’s book.

8 Shrek the Third (2007)

Shrek the Third

DreamWorks Animation

The third installment in the Shrek series finds our titular ogre (voiced by Myers) in a bind. He has been crowned King of Far Far Away and is struggling to find a suitable heir. The film’s story is a bit of a mixed bag, with some moments that are really funny and some that feel like it’s overdone. Myers, as always, is brilliant as Shrek, and the supporting cast, including Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz, is strong as well. However, Shrek the Third isn’t as strong as the previous two movies in the series, and it’s not as memorable either.

7 Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002)

New line cinema

The third installment in the Austin Powers series finds our groovy spy (Myers) teaming up with his father (also played by Myers) to take down a new villain, Goldmember (also played by Myers). The movie is full of jokes, both new and recycled, and Myers is clearly having fun playing multiple characters. The scenario of Austin Powers in Goldmember it’s a bit of a mess, but it doesn’t really matter because the movie is so funny. The supporting cast, including Beyoncé and Michael Caine, is also solid. It’s not as good as the first two Austin Powers movies, but it’s still a lot of fun.

6 Wayne’s World (1992)

Wayne's world
Paramount Pictures Studios

It’s hard to believe that Wayne’s World is now over 25 years old, but the weather has been kind to this classic comedy. From a sketch by saturday night live, the film follows Wayne (Myers) and Garth (Dana Carvey) as they attempt to bring their cable show to public access at the big time. The movie is a perfect blend of comedy and satire, with some really funny moments and a great soundtrack. Myers and Carvey have great chemistry together, and the supporting cast, including Tia Carrere and Rob Lowe, is strong as well. It’s a classic comedy that still holds up today.

5 So I Married an Ax Murderer (1993)

So I married an ax murderer

So I married an ax murderer is a criminally underrated comedy that deserves way more love than it gets. The film follows Charlie (Myers) as he falls in love with Harriet (Nancy Travis), a woman with a mysterious past. As Charlie begins to suspect that Harriet might be a serial killer, the film takes a turn for the absurd, but never loses its sense of humor. Myers is awesome as Charlie and he has great chemistry with Travis. The supporting cast, including Anthony LaPaglia and Alan Arkin, is also strong. The movie is full of clever jokes and memorable moments, and it’s a shame it’s not better known today.

4 Austin Powers: International Mystery Man (1997)

Austin Powers’ debut film is a comedy classic, and it’s easy to see why it spawned two sequels. Myers plays the title character, a groovy spy who is cryogenically frozen and awakens in the 1990s to stop his nemesis Dr. Evil (also played by Myers). The film is filled with clever jokes, memorable characters, and a great soundtrack. Myers is clearly having a lot of fun playing both Austin and Dr. Evil. Austin Powers: The International Mystery Man also has a strong supporting cast, including Elizabeth Hurley and Michael York. It’s a comedy that still holds up today, and it’s a must-have for fans of the genre.

3 Shreek (2001)

The Shrek attraction is coming to London

The first one Shrek The film is a true classic, and it’s easy to see why it spawned three sequels. Myers voices the titular character, an ogre who is forced to rescue a princess (voiced by Cameron Diaz) to reclaim her land from an evil overlord (voiced by John Lithgow). The film is the perfect blend of comedy, action, and heart, with some truly hilarious moments and a great soundtrack. Myers is awesome as Shrek and he has great chemistry with Diaz. The supporting cast, including Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas, is also strong. It’s a film that still holds up today and is a must-watch for fans of the genre.

2 Austin Powers: The Spy Who Fucked Me (1999)

The second installment in the Austin Powers series finds our groovy spy (Myers) traveling back in time to the 1960s to retrieve his stolen mojo and stop his nemesis Dr. Evil (also played by Myers) from using it to take over the world. The movie is even better than the first, with more jokes, more memorable characters, and even bigger sets. Myers is clearly having a lot of fun playing both Austin and Dr. Evil, and the supporting cast, including Heather Graham and Michael York, is something. Austin Powers: The Spy Who Fucked Me also features some of the most iconic scenes and catchphrases that are still quoted today.

The second installment in the Shrek series is a true masterpiece of animated comedy and storytelling. It’s a film that still holds up today and is a must-watch for fans of the genre. It’s the perfect blend of comedy, action, and heart, and it’s a shining example of what animated movies can be at their best. Shrek 2 finds our titular ogre (voiced by Myers) and his new bride (voiced by Cameron Diaz) traveling to the Kingdom of Far Far Away to meet her parents, who are less than thrilled at their daughter’s choice of a husband. Along the way, they encounter a host of new characters, including a swashbuckling cat voiced by Antonio Banderas and a blind mouse voiced by Eddie Murphy.

The film is even better than the first, with more jokes, more heart, and more memorable moments. The animation is top notch, the music is catchy and the storyline is captivating. The film also features some of the most iconic scenes and catchphrases that are still quoted today. Myers, as always, is awesome as Shrek and he has great chemistry with Diaz. The supporting cast, including Eddie Murphy, Antonio Banderas and Julie Andrews, is also solid. Each character adds their own unique flavor and humor to the film, making for an enjoyable watch. The relationship between Shrek and Fiona is also more developed in this movie and it adds a layer of depth to the characters.
