Miguel Almiron provided a real quality moment to help Newcastle United establish a big lead over Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The Magpies have had a mixed start to the season with just one win in their first seven Premier League appearances.
As a result, fans have started to get a little frustrated with their squad’s lack of quality, but that will no doubt have changed in West London.
Facing Fulham, Eddie Howe’s side got off to a glorious start against the newly promoted side with Callum Wilson setting them on their way on his return from injury.
What followed was a simply sublime effort from Almiron.
After a magnificent cut ball from Bruno Guimaraes, the Paraguayan lifted a right-footed volley past Cottagers keeper Bernd Leno from the tightest angles to make it 2-0.
Reporting for talkSPORT, Joe Shennan said: “It’s a sensational finish from Miguel Almiron.
“The angle was against Almiron, who was on the edge of the penalty area, but he hit an instinctive left-footed volley with his instep into the top corner and past the statuesque keeper.
“Newcastle are heading for their first win since the opening weekend of the season.”
The Magpies weren’t done with it though, with Sean Longstaff also scoring before half-time to make it 3-0, a display that will no doubt have entertained new signing Garang Kuol.
Newcastle’s new signing was pictured in the stands at Craven Cottage and will no doubt have been delighted with what he saw from his new team-mates.
