The Microsoft Authenticator app for iOS offers practical new account configuration features. The latest update available to beta testers via TestFlight adds the ability to change your Microsoft account password, update security information, and view recent activity on your account. The three options allow you to complete tasks that would otherwise require accessing your account dashboard in a browser.
“The Microsoft Authenticator app keeps you up to date with what’s going on with your account, by sending security notifications to your personal Microsoft account, making it easier for you to manage your account,” Microsoft said in a community article. Tapping on your accounts will now expand them to full screen mode where you can see more options for the account you have typed. This full screen view is where you will see things like if the connection to the phone is activated, your unique access code and the new account options.

For now, Microsoft indicates that these account settings are only available for personal Microsoft accounts. “We are also working to make them available for Azure AD, but before enabling them, we want to make sure that IT administrators can choose the options available in the application,” says Microsoft. There is no timeline on adding support for Azure AD.
These new features are currently only available to beta testers through the TestFlight program. However, they should be available to all Microsoft Authenticator users in the coming weeks.
