In November, Microsoft began activating its upcoming Windows 11 Moment 3 update for the first time. At the time, we found traces of the next feature update in the Dev Channel releases. It was also around the same time that Microsoft embarked on the zinc development semester. Internal test IDs revealed that the Redmond giant has started enabling Moment 3 features, and even Moment 4, in the Dev channel.
Until now, everything and anything around Moment 3 revolved around the Dev Channel. However, things are also starting to spill over to the beta channel, indicating that future Moment 3 features are now moving ever so slightly closer to general availability. Twitter user and Windows enthusiast Xeno noticed mentions of future beta channel builds 23141 and 23145 in recent beta channel builds. They speculate that the new version numbers are indicative of Windows 11 Moment 3. The mentions were found in Microsoft Symbol Server, which could hint at the company’s ongoing debugging and development efforts.
This makes sense as earlier reports had suggested that Windows 11 22H2 Moment 3 could be released in May this year. Other reports suggest it will be followed by Moment 4 later this year (Windows 11 version 23H2). That said, it’s important to understand that this is all speculation for now until we get an official confirmation from Microsoft.
