In addition to workouts, homework, classes and double encounters, Saldate began posting IG reels with his brief commentary and discusses hot topics in the MMA world, and they are opening his eyes to a possible dream career.

“Right now it’s just IG rolls; it’s not a five, ten or fifteen minute video commenting on something long. It’s short and sweet,” Saldate said. “A lot of people are going to tweet UFC news, so what I do instead of tweeting, I turn into work. I consider this an internship for myself, so if anything ever came up, I’d be pretty much ready to transition.

Saldate knows commentary jobs are unlikely without UFC experience, despite his favorite commentator Jon Anik, who hasn’t logged any time in the Octagon himself but believes his mastery of the sport gave it a leg up on most others trying to occupy space.

If his natural leg doesn’t land him a job at the commentary table, Saldate’s concentration isn’t broken. He has his eyes set on a pretty satisfying “backup plan” that stems from his current IG reels project.

“The perfect world for me would be me growing up commenting and getting a degree in advertising and going on and building my fan base and having my own talk show or something. of the kind. Maybe it’s on UFC BATTLE PASS – something stable where I have constant viewers and I talk about MMA,” Saldate explained. “I think it could be me and someone else, preferably, and I can work from home or wherever they need me to be. If they need me to go to an event, I can go to an event and make a living from it.

“Satellite” Saldate has already “learned on the job” quite a bit. He’s found his groove and plans to continue to grow when the time comes, and has already learned to be himself a bit more than in his first videos, a decision that’s already starting to pay off.
