Malaysian-born Michelle Yeoh is breaking down the barriers of the movie world again with her new film which has garnered her a slew of Spirit Award nominations.
Michelle Yeoh’s “Everything Everywhere All At Once” and Cate Blanchett’s “Tar” led the Spirit Awards nominations on Tuesday, underscoring their credentials as independent films to watch this awards season.
The Film Independent Spirit Awards, which only consider low-to-mid-budget films, gave eight nods to Yeoh’s bestselling sci-fi about surreal parallel universes, and seven to Blanchett’s drama set in the unforgiving world of classical music.
Both were nominated for Best Feature, along with Sarah Polley’s ‘Women Talking’, which will receive the prestigious Robert Altman Award for Director, Casting Director and General Casting of a Motion Picture.
