Mercedes-Benz could finally introduce the V-Class name to America

When Mercedes-Benz brings its next-generation minivan to America, it will apparently be called the V-Class. Anonymous Mercedes officials have confirmed NeighborhoodsAuto that the model would abandon the EQV nomenclature when it goes on sale in 2026.

Mercedes detailed its minivan plans in May 2023, announcing the VAN.EA architecture that will underpin new mid-size luxury vans in the United States and elsewhere. According to this latest report, Mercedes will offer the van with single- and dual-motor configurations in both rear- and all-wheel drive configurations and two battery capacities.

Mercedes declined to comment WardAuto report when achieved by Engine1telling us he can’t discuss future product plans.

Mercedes said last year that the vans would have a targeted range of more than 310 miles. Like most minivans on the market, the company will offer it in a variety of wheelbases and seating configurations. The platform will also support larger cargo vans designed to be customizable.

Additionally, the platform will support mid-size and full-size RVs to attract buyers. It will compete with the ID. The Buzz California Camper variant, announced by Volkswagen in 2021, should arrive in dealerships after 2025.

Mercedes had already offered the Metris in the United States, but dismal sales killed the model at the end of 2023. Lackluster demand, however, hasn’t dampened the brand’s enthusiasm for offering vans in the United States. Let’s hope they have a little more success this time around.
