If you have a sports coupe that sells for over $ 300,000 and is considered the fastest production vehicle to ever hit the perilous Nurburgring, you’d think nothing needs changing. Just take delivery and you’re good to go.
But Wheelsandmore wants to change this mindset by presenting the first tuning package for the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. Called the Underdock central locking adapter system, the German tuner further amplifies the appeal of the GT Black series by offering a set of forged rims with central locking.
Best of all, the Underdock central locking adapter system comes with an aluminum-magnesium alloy central locking nut, which allows you to change wheels between cars without having to change the entire hub. This means it can turn any vehicle, including the top dog in the Mercedes-AMG GT lineup, can accept center-locking wheels.
As for the rims, Wheelsandmore’s 20-inch forged alloys feature a twin five-spoke design in a variety of colors. The company, however, doesn’t limit you with its offers; you just have to ask. Again, each of the current rim designs on offer weighs only 9 to 12 kilograms (20 to 26 pounds).
Aftermarket upgrades don’t just stop at rims. Wheelsandmore also increased engine power to 789 horsepower (588 kilowatts) and 641 pound-feet (870 Newton-meters) of torque by updating the control unit. This effectively increases the top speed of the unit to 209 miles per hour (336 kilometers per hour).
Of course, with more power you need a better brake set, which Wheelsandmore respected with carbon-ceramic disc brakes and special pads. The upgrade is claimed to have a 50% higher coefficient of friction than the stock. The outfit will also feature a sports exhaust system, although information is scarce at this point.
