Supergirl is coming back! Melissa Benoist is spotted on set in her sculpted costume … after giving birth to her first child last year
Melissa Benoist was seen on the Vancouver set of the hit show CW Supergirl on Thursday afternoon.
The 32-year-old actress filmed scenes of her teammate David Harewood, as he appeared to be making jokes between takes.
This is the first time Benoist has been pictured on the set of the DC Comics-based show since the birth of her first son in September last year.

Benoist was dressed in the titular character’s costume, which comfortably clung to her toned post-baby body.
Her beautiful blonde hair contrasted perfectly with the striking blue hue of her bodysuit, as well as the red color of her boots and cape.
The actress’ co-star was also disguised as Cyborg Superman, and her costume emphasized her impressive figure.
Supergirl premiered in 2015 and originally aired on CBS before moving on to The CW ahead of the start of its second season.

Although Benoist was the first actress considered for the role of Supergirl, Gemma Atkinson and Claire Holt were also in the running for the role.
The series is currently filming its sixth and final season, which is slated for release later this year on an unspecified date.
Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch, who have both appeared in multiple episodes of Supergirl, reprise their roles as titular characters in Superman and Lois, which premiered in February.
It’s unclear if Benoist will reprise his role in the new DC Comics-based series.

The actress’ appearance on set marks the first time she has been seen in costume since the birth of her first child.
The performer made the announcement via her Instagram account last September and revealed her son’s name was Huxley Robert Wood.
In the caption of the post, the Whiplash actress mentioned that her new child was ‘everything’ to her.
Benoist’s child is her first with husband and Supergirl actor Chris Wood; the couple got married in 2019.
Prior to getting involved with her current husband, the actress was married to her Glee co-star, Blake Jenner; the couple finalized their divorce in 2017.
