Why did you decide to join this incredible charitable activation?
Holloway: Unemployment in Hawaii is close to 40%, and because our economy is based on tourism, it looks like it will be a long way towards recovery. We also had a very high cost of living here, so a lot of people are suffering. The reason I signed up is that the revenue goes directly to food banks, and food banks really, really need help right now.
How long will this campaign last and where can fans go to learn more or donate directly?
Holloway: It runs until May 31, 2020 and fans can head over to ALL4HAWAII.org to participate now.
You have a long history of giving back to your community. Why is donation important to you?
Holloway: The meaning of life is doing meaningful things for others. I’ve always said that belts are cool, and I have several now, but this is really just a ticket to having a bigger impact in a big way.
After this campaign is over, do you have any other charitable campaigns planned?
Holloway: Yes. There are a lot of needs in Hawaii and around the world, really, but right now my team is focused on the basic needs of Hawaiians, which is food. When food banks tell us they are good, we will look to other areas. But right now, we need to make sure that people can continue to eat during these difficult times.
