Marseille v Man City: Team news
Marseille have a perfectly fit team for the City visit.
Dimitri Payet is currently serving a domestic ban but will be available in Europe.
Boubacar Kamara, who was linked with his move to the Premier League this summer, is expected to return to the fold after being rested.
City have a host of injury issues with Gabriel Jesus, Fernandinho and Benjamin Mendy all ruled out.
Aymeric Laporte, Nathan Ake and Sergio Aguero also remain skeptical for the Premier League giants.
But Kevin De Bruyne looks set to return to the starting lineup after overcoming his recent injury and making a replacement appearance at West Ham this weekend.
Marseille v Man City: What has been said?
Man City boss Pep Guardiola admits his squad’s busy schedule is taking its toll on his squad ahead of their trip to France.
He said, “It’s too much. We are demanding something that they cannot afford.
“It’s not difficult to understand. We stopped last season, came back and after two weeks we came back.
“I try to demand everything from my players but there is a limit. We can do one or two competitions – no problem – but it’s every three days.
“We played a tough game against Porto and came back here.
“Even with that, we played to win the game [against West Ham] except 10-15 minutes of the first half.
“The players made an incredible effort. We created chances to win the game and in the end we couldn’t do it. They have tried and done absolutely everything in the field.
“We have the Champions League and the Carabao Cup. We didn’t have enough legs to do it.
“It’s hard to predict the future. We’ll see what happens next time. Every season is a challenge – every game is.
“The world is different right now – not just for us, for everyone. Now the players are recovering for Tuesday and we are continuing.
