Married at first glance, Cathy Evans looks set to break up with Josh Pihlak at the engagement ceremony on Sunday, after confirming their breakup on Instagram this week.

And in the exclusive photos from Daily Mail Australia, the 26-year-old looked impatient to get on with her daily life during her last days of filming last year.

On October 16, Cathy kept her low profile when she left the Skye Suites Sydney building on Kent Street to buy breakfast at a nearby Woolworths.

Cathy dressed casually for the outing, wearing a pair of activewear blue leggings with a white crop top and Adidas sneakers.

The New Zealand-born logistics engineer looked dejected and fed up with production by sourcing blueberries, oats and milk.

She avoided a single-use plastic shopping bag and carried the items in her arm.

At this point in the experiment, Cathy was still wearing her wedding ring, but Daily Mail Australia understands that her “marriage” was hanging by a thread.

She kept her head down when she realized she was being photographed.

Cathy’s supermarket race arrived a few hours before the cast filmed one of the show’s dramatic dinners, which can often last more than eight hours.

Earlier this week, Cathy’s “ husband ” Josh faced a backlash from viewers when he appeared on the side of his overprotective mother instead of his “ wife ” during stays homestay.

Cathy accused her “husband” of throwing her under the bus when they sat down for lunch, despite having reassured her beforehand that he would support her.

He then broke his contract with Channel Nine by sharing a long video on Instagram in which he confirmed the couple’s separation and raged against the producers.

The truck driver claimed that his family lunch during homestays had been selectively changed to make him and his mother, Mandy Manning, villains.
