Married at First Sight bride Lauren Dunn lashes out at ex-groom Jono after claims about his behavior on show: ‘100% fabricated’

Married At First Sight’s Lauren Dunn has lashed out at former groom Jono McCullough, claiming his recent comments about his behavior on the show were “100% fabricated”.

Jono recently recounted a heated moment during the reunion finale episode where Lauren’s actions and reports that she had a secret boyfriend in Bali before the series were publicly criticized by co-star Jayden Eynaud.

“Jayden (Eynaud) said to me, ‘That’s it, Lauren, shut up. You treated Jono like shit. You had a boyfriend,” he said, adding that she was upset because of the confrontation.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia on Monday, Lauren hit back at Jono’s claims.

“The claims that I was crying at the dinner table because of Jayden (and his comments) are 100 percent fabricated,” she said.

“I wasn’t crying because of Jono and Ellie’s relationship, I was crying because I was so overwhelmed by the lack of decorum displayed at the table.”

Jono and Ellie made a provocative entrance when they arrived at the finale dinner as a newly formed couple, having struck up a romance behind the back of Jono’s wife Lauren.

The reunion dinner then exploded with several clashes and crude rants between attendees.

“Jono is trying to blame his friend Jayden, it’s unfortunately not out of character for him,” Lauren said.

“He went out of his way to not only throw mud at me himself, but also to enlist the help of current and former MAFS participants to do his dirty work for him.”

Lauren also told Daily Mail Australia that contrary to the perception of the show’s set-up, the reunion night ended happily.

“The evening ended with everyone laughing and joking. Jono and I had a lovely evening together and finished the reunion without animosity,” she said.

“I hope this media criticism can stop now. I am very happy and I wish the same to everyone else participating in the experience.

Ahead of the dramatic reunion special, tensions came to a head on the show when Lauren finally confronted her husband Jono about texting his partner Ellie after leaving the show.

Lauren’s heart was broken when she discovered her husband was secretly texting Ellie.

One dramatic episode saw Lauren ask to see Jono’s iPhone, only to discover he had texted Ellie hundreds of times after she left the experiment.

“You contacted her. It’s not just about relaying information that happened the night before, it’s much more than that. My stomach dropped,” Lauren told Jono.

Jono eventually admitted he had been secretly texting Ellie – but tried to downplay their relationship as merely platonic before arriving arm in arm with Ellie at the reunion dinner.
