Fans are about to get a double dose of Mark Ruffalo in the next HBO limited series, I know it’s true. The network released its first look at the former Marvel star in two main roles: Dominick Birdsey and his mentally ill twin brother Thomas. Based on Wally Lamb’s book, the six-part series of The place Beyond the Pines“Derek Cianfrance follows Dominick when he is forced to accept the guardianship of his brother after having hurt himself. Dominick, a Connecticut house painter, is forced to face the shadows of his past while dealing with the paranoid schizophrenic and finds himself confronted with dark memories that he has suppressed for years.
Ruffalo is joined by a myriad of familiar faces, including Rosie O’Donnell, Kathryn Hahn, Juliette Lewis, Melissa Leo, Archie Panjabi and Imogen Poots. Watch the suspenseful trailer above and get ready to delve into mystery when I know it’s true debuts on April 27.
