Margot Robbie said she took the ‘opportunity’ to kiss Brad Pitt while filming Babylon.
Robbie and Pitt star opposite each other in Damien Chazelle’s upcoming three-hour film.
Chazelle has already achieved acclaimed successes, including Whiplash and The Earth. Babylon is considered another Oscar contender for the filmmaker.
In a recent interview with E ! NewRobbie revealed that her kiss with Pitt in the film “wasn’t in the script” and that she improvised the moment.
Robbie said: “I thought, ‘When will I get the chance to kiss Brad Pitt? I’ll just go.
The The wolf of Wall Street star, 32, then recalled the details of his conversation with Chazelle.
“I said, ‘Damien, I think Nellie would come up and kiss Jack. And Damien was like, ‘Well, she might – wait, wait. You just want to kiss Brad Pitt,’” she said.
“And I was like, ‘Oh, so sue me. This opportunity may never come again. And he was like, ‘It works for the character,’ and I was like, ‘I think Yes.'”
After a successful take of the impromptu kiss, Chazelle was impressed and asked them to reshoot the scene.
“He was like, ‘No, do it again. This really works. I was like, ‘Oh great,’” Robbie said.
Robbie and Pitt starred together in Quentin Tarantino Once upon a time… in Hollywood (2019), as well as in the Adam McKay film in 2015 The big court.
The Australian actor then revealed that she also kissed her co-star Katherine [Waterston] for the film, but was unsure if this scene made the final cut.
In Babylon, Robbie stars as rising actress, Nellie LaRay. The film is set in 1920s Hollywood as the film industry emerges from the era of silent films. Pitt plays actor Jack Conrad.
Robbie has previously said that she has never worked so hard on a film as on Babylon.
“I’ve never worked so hard in my life,” she says. “[I was] broken by the end of this work.
Babylon hits theaters on December 23.
