Margot Robbie is the image of Hollywood depravity in the full ‘Babylon’ trailer. Paramount Pictures released the new footage on Nov. 28 and features director Damien Chazelle’s fictional Hollywood full of glitz, glamour, sex and drugs. The new film, which also stars Brad Pitt, is about Tinseltwon in the 1920s and the kind of people who ended up shaping him forever. Paramount released the trailer for the film on September 13.
“The basic idea was just to make a big, epic, multi-character movie, set in those early days of Los Angeles and Hollywood, when those two things came into what we now think of them,” Chazelle said. at Vanity Fair on September 1. 7. “Everything moves under people’s feet,” he told the magazine about the time, “and I became really fascinated by the human cost of a disruption of this magnitude, at a time when there was no roadmap, where everything was just new and wild.” Chazelle also directed “Whiplash” in 2014 and “La La Land” in 2016.
“Babylon” is Robbie and Pitt’s second film together after 2019’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” That film, coincidentally, was about another tumultuous period in the history of Los Angeles and cinema. “Babylon” also stars newcomer Diego Calva, “Quantico” actress Li Jun Li and Tobey Maguire.
Robbie has kept his movie slate very comprehensive. In October, she starred in “Amsterdam” with Taylor Swift, John David Washington and Robert De Niro. And she just wrapped filming her lead role in ‘Barbie,’ which will be released next summer. She also has a role in Wes Anderson’s upcoming “Asteroid City.”
