Say what you think of Mansory, but they never made a boring car. Granted, most of their alternate plans are a love / hate story, but never boring. As an example, the tuner is trying to change the internet favorite – the new Audi RS6 Avant. The Ingolstadt super wagon is one of the few cars that everyone seems to like, but we are not sure that it will be the same story with this rather eccentric project.
Mansory wanted to bring the car to the Geneva Motor Show, but we will only see it online for the moment as 90e edition of GIMS has been canceled. If the wide carbon fiber body kit doesn’t convince you it’s not a standard RS6, these quadrangular exhaust tips are certainly not what you would expect from Audi. The two oval end caps of the standard RS6 – the largest exhaust tips ever fitted to an Audi Sport RS model – have been replaced by an angular assembly housed in a diffuser probably visible from the moon.
From hood and front spoiler vents to massive side skirts and the large roof spoiler to the rear – Mansory really went to town to modify the fast family transporter from Ingolstadt. These orange decorative stripes on the hood and the 22 inch forged wheels have a matching interior where there is a similar shade for seat belts, floor mats, dashboard and door armrests to provide a contrasting effect.
It wouldn’t be a complete package without a few modifications under the hood of the performance wagon where Mansory played with the 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine. No longer producing 591 horsepower (441 kilowatts) and 590 pound-feet (800 Newton meters) of torque, the raucous V8 now contains 720 hp (537 kW) and 738 lb-ft (1000 Nm). The extra boost reduced sprint time from 0 to 100 km / h from 3.6 seconds to just 3.2 seconds, and although top speed is not mentioned, we will remind you that the standard RS6 Avant can do 190 mph (305 km / h).
With the RS6 Avant, Mansory officially announces its intention to modify more Audis in the extension of the R8 Spyder of many moons ago.
