Mandy Moore and her husband Taylor Goldsmith welcomed their first child – a baby boy!
The “This Is Us” star, 36, shared the happy news on Instagram on Tuesday, revealing that her son’s name is Gus.
“Gus is here,” she wrote. “Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith. He was on time and arrived just on his due date, much to his parents’ delight. We were ready to fall in love in all kinds of new ways, but it goes beyond that of anything we could have ever imagined. “
He is the first child of Moore and Goldsmith, 35, who sings and plays guitar in California folk rock band Dawes.
Moore announced she was pregnant in September by sharing a series of black and white photos on Instagram showing Goldsmith with her hand on her belly.
“Baby Boy Goldsmith is coming in early 2021,” she captioned the photos.
Speaking with TODAY in November, Moore revealed that playing a mother of three on “This is Us” helped her prepare for motherhood in real life.
“Funny, I mean having played kind of a family matriarch for the past five years and getting to see kids in different chapters and stages, I feel like I’m as pseudo-prepared as possible” . she said.
“I have had babies and toddlers and I have grown children so I kind of have a pretty good taste and layout of the pitch,” she added.
In January, Moore shared an update about her baby on the way. The actor and singer posted an Instagram photo of herself, taken by photographer Jenna Jones, who found her smiling as she cradled her plump stomach.
“Almost there …” she gushed in the caption.
Moore and Goldsmith tied the knot in November 2018. They got engaged in September 2017 after dating for two years. Months before Goldsmith asked the question, Moore hinted at People that she couldn’t wait to start a family.
“I am definitely ready for motherhood as soon as possible!” she said at the time. “I think this will be the next chapter.”
