Mandy Moore unveiled his grief over Pete Buttigieg announcing Sunday that he will abandon the US presidential race.
The 35-year-old This Is Us star told her story on Instagram Sunday afternoon to express her feelings about the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana’s dropout.
Buttigieg has announced he is dropping out after finishing fourth in the South Carolina primary this weekend.

“So I can’t say I’m not a little sorry right now,” Moore started in his Instagram story videos, labeling Buttigieg and his partner Chasten.
“ My heart is broken for the country, my heart is broken for Pete and Chasten, my heart is broken for the incredible staff of the Pete for America campaign and the field organizers and all the wonderful people that I have had the good fortune to meet and interact with in the past six months, “she added.
The actress added: “ Pete may not have been your guy, but there was no way to deny the historic nature of this campaign and what it was ”, referring to Buttigieg who was the first openly gay person to launch a presidential campaign.

Heartbroken: “ My heart is broken for the country, my heart is broken for Pete and Chasten, my heart is broken for the incredible staff of the Pete for America campaign and the field organizers and all wonderful people I have had the good fortune to meet and interact with in the past six months or so, “she added.
“And for that, I am extremely grateful. I am grateful to Pete and Chasten for what they inspired, and I can only hope that, by advancing, whoever our candidate is, he will be able to convey this message of unity ”, a -she adds.
She added that the message of unity was “of the utmost importance for this country”, before adding: “I don’t know what else to say”.
She said she knew what she meant, “I can’t wait to see what Pete and Chasten do next.”
Acknowledging: “And for that, I am extremely grateful. I am grateful to Pete and Chasten for what they inspired, and I can only hope that, to move forward, whoever our candidate is, he will be able to convey this message of unity ”, a- she added.

She also shared videos from her home of the actress watching Pete and Chasten speak at the rally, as crowds chanted for him to show up in 2024.

Moore officially endorsed Buttigieg in January when she appeared at an Iowa City Hall event for the former mayor of South Bend before Iowa caucuses.
Moore played Rebecca Pearson on the hit NBC series This Is Us, which is currently in its fourth season.
She also voices Rapunzel in the animated television series Tangled.
