A musical café helps people with dementia sing, play instruments and even dance after coronavirus blockages.
Manchester Camerata offers free music therapy workshops to people with dementia and their caregivers as part of its Music in Mind initiative.
David Tollington, a French horn player, said some of the participants “don’t remember what they ate for breakfast, but they do remember the full lyrics of a song.”
He said it shows “the power of music”.
Evidence shows that music therapy can help people with dementia ease their symptoms and improve their quality of life.
