Greenwood recently had the charges against him dropped
The 21-year-old was originally arrested in January last year over the allegations following the emergence of disturbing videos and images posted online by a woman.
It was announced on Thursday that the Crown Prosecution Service had decided to drop the charges.
However, The Sun reports that the United squad are worried about how Greenwood’s return could affect their season.
A source told them: “The players are open to him returning to the squad, but the review could be hugely distracting.
“The dressing room is the happiest it’s been in ages and nobody wants to rock the boat.”
United issued a statement following the CPS decision which read: “Manchester United take note of the Crown Prosecution Service’s decision that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dropped.
