PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A man is in critical condition after being shot multiple times on a Philadelphia basketball court. Police said the 23-year-old victim was among 10 men at the Pleasant Playground basketball court near Boyer Street just after 10.30pm Thursday when a gunman climbed the stairs to the playground and started to fire several shots hitting the victim several times. .
At least 16 shots were fired and police believe the shooting was targeted.
“Twenty-three-year-old male with gunshot wounds to the head and gunshot wounds to the torso. We found a large amount of blood on the basketball court itself, we found a basketball and ‘bottled water,’ the chief inspector said. said Scott Small.
Police told Eyewitness News that a car that was on the playground arrived at Einstein Hospital with multiple bullet holes in the windshield and is being held for treatment.
They think there may have been more than one shooter.
