Man City will still finish above Tottenham this season despite the outcome of their game on Saturday, Tony Cascarino has told talkSPORT.
Spurs were impressive in their 2-0 win over Pep Guardiola’s side at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with goals from Heung-min Son and Giovani Lo Celso.
He sent Jose Mourinho’s side to the top of the Premier League and eight points ahead of City, who are surprisingly in 11th place.
Despite this, Cascarino told the Weekend Sports Breakfast that the Manchester club will always end up better.
He said: “They (Spurs) have a huge test ahead. They have six very difficult games. They have three London derbies, so it’s Chelsea, Palace and Arsenal. Then Liverpool, Wolves and Leicester.
“So they have six incredibly difficult games. If you told me today, who would finish City or top Spurs? I would say City again because there are still a lot of questions to answer about Spurs.
“The city will always end up above them.”
Cascarino also believes Spurs fans are now buying the way Mourinho does things at the club.
They desperately want to end their wait for a trophy that hasn’t won anything since 2008.
Cascarino added: “Jose was a brilliant manager, he won trophies. Even in his spare time at Man United where it didn’t really work out, he still won two trophies.
“You have to recognize that and obviously Daniel Levy and the Spurs fans know what he’s been up to, he’s handled one of their main rivals.

“Jose has an amazing habit of trying to reinvent something, he did it at Inter Milan in different ways, okay they were competitive when they won the Champions League at the time.
“I heard a lot of listeners on the radio talking about how they never thought they would like what Mourinho would be like, but it’s amazing how winning football matches makes people react. ‘a slightly different way.
