Jude Bellingham will be a man in high demand with three Premier League clubs chasing his signing – but he will have to pay huge fees to land him.
The 18-year-old has established himself as a star at Borussia Dortmund and was also a key member of the England squad which made it to the Euro 2020 final this summer.
Dortmund didn’t sign him until 2020 for £ 25million from the Birmingham league side, but he very quickly settled into life at the top level.
The midfielder made 46 appearances for the German club last season, scoring four times, and has been trusted to start in huge Champions League games against Paris Saint-Germain and Man City.
And he started the new season in great shape with one goal and two assists in four Bundesliga games.
Bellingham is now linked with a return to English football, and some of the Premier League’s top clubs will be clamoring for his signing.
Liverpool and Chelsea were previously linked and England champions Man City have now entered the race, according to the Daily Star.
But Dortmund are likely to demand huge fees for the player they signed just over 12 months ago.
Sport Bild claim the figure is likely to be at least € 100million (£ 85million), far more than the fees they collected it for.
Guardiola is a big fan of Bellingham and gave him great praise after their Champions League games last season.
“I can’t believe it, maybe he is a liar!” said Guardiola. “He’s so good for 17 years, he’s a fantastic player.
“There was a time when he didn’t get the ball from central defenders, the way he shouts and asks for that ball at 17 means a lot.
“I spoke with his manager, Edin [Terzic], and he told me that what you see in those two games is like every training session.
